"Perfection isn't beauty. Perfection isn't intelligence. Perfection isn't being the best. Perfection is simply an augmented reality that we choose to hold everything to. Perfection is nothing."

Having started up the process of making pottery over 10 years ago, a lot of progress has been made. Family teasing took place over pots and cups that were catawampus and would give the Eiffel Tower a run for tiltedness. But like most hobbies, as time went on, it got better. Shari, the artist, worked in a small space inside the garage for a long time before finally investing in an actual workplace. A second garage was built, but this one customized for elaborate pottery making tools instead of those Lamborghini's in every fast car movie. However, like a hoarder's worst nightmare, her space filled up. Eventually she had to move her kiln outside so that there would be room for both her spray booth and throwing wheel. At long last she was satisfied with the accommodations. As her time at the wheel grew longer, her families compliments grew more numerous and sincere. Encouragement was never lacking despite the friendly jests. Plates began to sit evenly across the table and cups no longer dipped in sections; to say the least, she had found the road towards perfection. Recently Shari took a trip to Spain in the hopes of learning the art of crystal pottery. There she meet with a splendid class and learned just how the feat of growing crystals was accomplished. Excited and eager to try her hand, she returned home. Following her notes step by step Shari created, sprayed, and fired her first round of pottery. The results...were less than desired. While the colors were magnificent and the pottery beautiful, there were no crystals. Time and time again, she tried. Finally small crystals began to grow, a success. Family and neighbors alike watched as she went from her pottery room to the kiln and back again...and again...and again. At long last her friends and family received the call. The one that said, "I did it." Her work now had beautiful crystals dancing across the surface - the same crystals that she herself had grown. Shari spent awhile longer experimenting with the process, tweaking until the chemical formulas were just right. And now, eager to share her passion with the world, Shari has handed the reins of starting up her business to her daughters, Caley and Teagan.
